Larry started quail hunting with dogs in 1964 and to give himself the free time he needed he became a fireman and a carpenter and also played the guitar as a hobby.  By 1970 he was hunting an average of 60 days per year.  During hunting Larry found that he always had his hands full running a check cord, electric training devices or game calls leaving him to put his gun down unprepared for game that might appear.

One day while cleaning his gun with the assembly out he glanced over at his guitar and it dawned on him that the button on a guitar could work on the balance point of the gun.  He quickly started working on a home-made button for his gun that would attach to his guitar strap.
