Indian Creek Lake is a 192-acre lake located on Poosey Conservation Area in northwest Livingston County. Largemouth bass fishing is good. A 12 to 15-inch protected slot length limit continues to improve the bass population. Bass anglers can expect the majority of their catch to be fish 12 to 15 inches long. However, catches of large bass are increasing. A high quality channel catfish population exists in the lake with several fish longer than 20 inches. Anglers should use night crawlers or prepared baits fished off the bottom. During the summer, be sure to fish in water less than 12 feet deep. Dissolved oxygen levels in many Missouri lakes get too low to support fish at depths below 12 feet during mid to late summer. Anglers interested in panfishing will find good numbers of bluegill and redear sunfish. At times, crappie anglers can experience good catches of fish longer than 10 inches. Regardless of the catch, fishing is always a good experience at what many people consider the prettiest lake in north Missouri. A fish cleaning station is located near the lake’s boat ramp.

Indian Creek Lake is located in the middle of a triangle formed by Trenton, Chillicothe, and Jamesport. Jamesport has two small lakes to it's north. Jamesport City Lake (18 ac.) and James Port Community Lake (145 ac.). |
| Jamesport City Lake has just got a bit of a face lift.
There is a new concrete boat ramp. New hitching post for your horse
too! (I sure would like to see someone backing a boat down the ramp
with a team of horses.)
This is an 18 acre lake that has a few years on it but still has a reputation for some good stringers of crappie. Driving DirectionsNorth of Jamesport on Highway 190, then west on Route RA. HighlightsThis area is largely forest. Facilities/features: boat ramp, hiking trail, and Jamesport City Lake (18 acres).

Jamesport Community Lake is just a bit farther out of town but
worth the drive if you like a little bigger lake to spend your day on.
The lake has a lot of floating vegetation and has a pretty open exposure
to the south, so it should warm up early in the spring. My personal
experience on this lake was a good one. I fished it for about a half
hour from the bank just north of the parking lot on the east side.
I landed several bass in a short time then I had to leave. One of
those bass took the only lure I had with me on my walk from the truck.
No time to get another and go back at it. I sure would have liked
to seen the one that got my gitzit!Driving DirectionsJamesport Community Lake is northwest of Jamesport off Route RA. HighlightsThis area contains forest, old fields, and grassland. Facilities/features: boat ramp, hiking trail, and Jamesport Community Lake (30 acres). About This AreaJamesport Community Lake is in Daviess County, approximately 1 mile north of Jamesport on Highway 190, then 2 miles west on Route RA. Jamesport residents raised funds to buy the property, and the Conservation Department agreed to accept ownership and development of the lake. The lake was built in 1956, which was the first community lake built under such an agreement. The Conservation Department later purchased additional land to protect the lake's watershed. The area consists of the 30-acre lake, surrounded by 115 acres of timber and old fields. The lake has one boat ramp and parking for vehicles with trailers. Bank anglers can access the shoreline in open areas and from lakeside foot trails. The lake supports good populations of largemouth bass and crappie. Bluegill and channel catfish have also been stocked. Some info provided by Missouri Department of Conservation |
