Now this guy knows Lancaster lakes.  I had the privilege of fishing with him this spring and he filled me in on some good info.  We are going to see if we can't get an email address for you if you need to know more than what is on this page you could ask Dave.

Thanks for the guide service Dave...

and letting me catch the biggest bass of the evening.

Lancaster City Lake (new)

Lancaster city lake is located just south of  Lancaster, Mo. on Hwy. 63 next to the Lancaster Country Club.
There is a concrete boat ramp, and privies at the parking area.
There are great numbers of crappie, largemouth bass, catfish, and bluegill.
Abundant amounts of good size carp if bowfishing is your forte.
With plenty of cover throughout the lake, you're sure to catch fish. The best fishing is on the dam side to the 8th tee. If your in the west cove keep your eyes open and your head down, for fast flying golf balls. Holes 7 & 8 are right next to the lake.

Limits for this lake are:
Largemouth Bass: 6 fish w/ 15" minimum
White Crappie: 30 fish
Channel Catfish: 4 fish
All other fish combined: 20

Private camping, gas, food, fish ponds, and more are available at Lancaster Amoco Food shop. Bosco's is behind the amoco, for this information. Located just south of the lake on Hwy. 63.

Lancaster City Lake (old)

This lake is located just north of the Hwy. 136 & 63 junction. Watch for the lake on the west side of Hwy. 63, when you see it hit the turn signal, next turn.
This lake has very nice largemouth bass in it, but they can be hard to find. If you have a canoe or two-man boat this is the way to go. One place to go start is the dam. Large concentrations of forage and rock. If you need bait during the warmer months, the spillway is right there for nice crawfish.
Again, large carp for the bowfisherman. The very northwest cove is a large shallow flat, excellent for carp.
I've heard of awesome cats being taken from here, but yet to have taken any myself.
There are no restrooms, and the nearest store is in Lancaster or south of the new lake.

Limits for this lake are:
Largemouth Bass: 6 fish w/ 15" minimum
Channel Catfish: 4 fish
All other fish combined: 20

Spencer Lake

Going to Lancaster east from the Hwy. 63 & 136 junction,
go to the first stop sign and turn right. At the top of the
hill will be Route D going east (left), follow it around the curve,
you'll see the sign.

There is a large playground, tennis court, two baseball fields,
shelter houses, basketball court and restrooms at your disposal.
Small boats are a plus, no actual ramp, but at the end of the
driveway you'll see where there used to be a ramp.
Largemouth bass and crappie are plentiful. You can catch a
bass on every cast. Crappie are a little harder to find, but
when you find one, you've got them all. Once again, monster carp.
I've shot them up to 47 pounds here. Channel catfish are here also,
but it's best to find them in the spring before the algae blooms.
Make note of the sign posted for catfish about the limits and
size restrictions on the pole by the fence at the end of the driveway
to the lake. Small sign but big fine!
Limits for this lake are:
Largemouth Bass: 6 fish w/ 15" minimum
White Crappie: 30
Channel Catfish: POSTED
All other fish combined: 20

One more note.  If you keep going past Lancaster up hwy 63 there is a little 6 acre pond on the east side of the road right at the Iowa line MDC owned and managed.
