Manito Lake (Central Region)

Fishing for channel catfish should be good in 2006. The Department stocks catfish each fall to maintain the population. Bluegill fishing should be fair to good this year. Bluegills were much more numerous in this year’s sample and the size is much better. Crappie fishing should remain fair. Fishing for largemouth bass will be fair this year.

Spring Fork Lake, a water supply reservoir for Sedalia, has a surface area of 178 acres and is the largest lake in the Lamine River basin. Manito Lake, 77 acres, is the only other large lake in the basin. Manito Lake is located 4.5 miles south of Tipton at the Manito Lake Conservation Area and was built for recreation.

Spring Fork Lake 178 acres

Directions
South of Sedalia on Highway 65, go east on Highway V for about 1.25 miles, then south on Spring Fork Lake Road, staying left at the T intersection. The lake is on the right about 1 mile farther up the hill.
