This was my very first visit to this particular club/range and I had the
opportunity to meet some very nice people. Fort Osage Muzzleloading
Club has one of the best ranges that I have ever shot on, with nearly 100
shooting positions available for competitors. The range is covered,
they have benches to load from, and the range itself is divided in to four
different shooting distances.....25, 35, 50, and 100 yards.
Most of the people that participated in the competition were from all
over the state of MO. There were even people from out of state who
were competing for the MO State Championship title.
During the three day competition, there were several traders who had
set up tents to sell their wares. Things such as periodic clothing,
jewelry, collectibles, shooting supplies, gun parts, and guns.
Many of the people who had competed in the match, set up camp at the
three day match. Fort Osage Muzzleloading Club offers competitors
a very nice area to set up camp.

On the very last day of the competition, the targets were all scored
and the overall scores were posted. After the 30 minute protest period,
the winners were announced. Medals were given out for 1st, 2nd, and
3rd places in each competition and each aggregate. A beautiful plaque
was given to both of the winners of the MO State Championship. For
the men's division of the MO State Championship, the winner was Larry Hand
of Georgia, and for the women's division of the MO State Championship,
the winner was Jennifer Goddard of MO. Congratulations to both Larry
and Jennifer for their achievement, and to all who placed in the competition.
Happy Shooting!
