EAST TEXAS HUNT-ARAMA TOUR
Lufkin, Texas - July 19th, 2002
By: Allen “horntagger” Morris

Every thing is bigger in TEXAS.

It was not the biggest show I have been to but it did have a lot of different products I had not seen before and of course no Texas outdoor show would be without Rattlesnakes. Glad I stopped on the way back from Houston, Texas it was well worth the one night hotel stay. Also I got to visit the Bass Pro Store in Houston, just like the rest of the store nothing but quality all the way. Even bought a few things at both places.

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE PRODUCT REVIEWS FROM THE SHOW

PICTURES FROM Bass Pro in Houston and the show.

Nothing less than the best in Houston, Texas.

Didn't buy the store up but made a dent.

Son Tyler wanted to see the big ole catfish.

He really like the albino catfish. Wish I had been at the store on August 22nd -25th. Two birds one stone.

Take more pictures dad!!!!!!!

Show off just like his dad.

Finally ran out of film. But he had a great time and I think the catfish like the attention.

Lufkin, Texas was the place to be on July 19th, of 2002.

Just a few East Texas Deer.

Can't forget the Rattlesnakes.

You might have seen this on this hunter and this buck on the front page of BUCKMASTERS - July/August of 2002 Issue

Jeff Duncan and 215 6/8 Irregular, is a new BTR Texas state record.

Of course you can't forget my son's close encounter with Rattlesnakes. Ok they are in the box.

Lots of different designs.

Of course my favorite.

Draw-Loc

Even it this can not be used in Missouri, unless you have a special permit which allows you to use a crossbow this won’t effect you. But, if you ever do have to use a crossbow this might be an option that you could put on your bow to lock the string in place. To me this might keep you from having to sell your favorite bow, or maybe you only have the permit for a short time. This could be an option for you.

You can see on the left side front of the bow.

Rear side of the bow.
The all in one bow , which is also another option.

Trophy Cooler

I wish I had this problem each year put I don’t. But I have had the problem before and this would be a great option, plus the taxidermist might thank you. You kill that nice buck on the first day of the season but you don’t want to leave camp this Trophy Cooler could keep you deer head in good condition and keep the bugs off until you are ready to leave. Also keep you from getting that brand new truck dirty. Check it out, see what you think.

If want a deer stand that last or would like to forget about the weather check out these fiberglass Deer Blinds and Stands. The insides are fully carpeted and the windows flip up. Never know that big buck might like walking around when it is pouring down rain.

Purina Deer Chow Sanctuary Brand

They have some free information on A GUIDE TO THE MANAGEMENT OF DEER AND ELK, DEER CHOW Product Selection Guide, Deer and Game Products. Purina Game Management Systems, I use Purina Deer Chow Sanctuary Brand 20% 55A6 Mixed with Corn starting in Feb. until Fawning Season is over and Antler Growth is Complete at the end of August.

Check out the website page to get this information.
It used to be FREE

The 20% stands for Crude Protein. It take the deer a little while but they will use it. I get mine from the local feed store.

Sling Shot Gun Sling

I keep seeing these at different shows, but it always seems I am running behind, but this time I took time and tried it out, I think this might be a good product to try for kids to help them walk with the gun and also to steady each shot. I did notice when he show me after each simulated shot that, I could acquire the target faster. Just call them for more information and see what you think.

Bug-Out

Lots of different suit out today, but this one seems to be the most compact and very light. Also come in kids sizes, which might be better than some of the bug spray that you can put on them. Also is a polyester mesh material that is snag resistant. Also for us deer hunters fighting the mosquitoes in along the swamp areas, since we are trying to keep our scent down, bug spray is out and this might be in.
The original no-see-um mesh with micro fibers helps keep out even the tiniest bugs like no-see-ums, blackflies, mosquitoes, ticks, even the nymph stage of the deer tick which causes Lyme Disease.  An entire suit weighs just 7 ounces!

Stepper

When you hunting on a friends land and you need to cross the fence from one area to the next or you just finish fixing the fence and it is to low for you belly to make it over these Step over T-Post Stepper I believe are the key. Or better yet it’s electric and you just can’t quite step over. Ouch. Just remember to set your gun down, safety first.
This product is making life easier for all people that have to cross T-Post fences. Hunters, Farmers, Ranchers, Surveyors, Pipeline workers, etc., have all benefited from the Hi-Stepper.

Mobile Hunter Tripod System

To get the most out of you ATV or you don’t get around as good as you use to, check out the Mobile Hunter, but also check with you local game and fish departments and make sure you can hunt from this setup. But as far a speed and comfort I would say you can’t beat it.

Shirt Shack

One of the best looking Wild Turkey shirts I have seen. Love the design and also the color of the shirt it’s self. Wish that old turkey would strut like that right in front of me. By the way bought this shirt for about 17 and change.
